Meet Our Staff

Our entire staff is dedicated to assisting your pet. We understand that coming to the veterinarian’s office is typically not an animal’s favorite thing to do. That is why we are so excited that each individual staff member is Fear Free certified so that we can assist your pet in staying healthy.

Dr. John Kuhn

DVM

Dr Kuhn has been practicing in the Northwest since his graduation from both the University of Idaho and Washington State University. He has special interests in cardiology and ultrasound. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting, fly-fishing, wildlife habitat restoration, reading, and ATVing. He is the proud father of two boys. He currently serves as the Medical Director for Indian Trail Animal Hospital.

Dr. Gordon Armstrong

DVM

Since his graduation from Washington State University in 2010, Dr. Armstrong has been practicing at ITAH. He has special interests in neurology and orthopedics. He performs TTA’s and CBLO’s (Cora-Based Leveling Osteotomy) for stifle injuries. Some of his favorite activities include day trips and camping with his wife and adorable daughters. Dr. Armstrong is also a Major in the US Army Reserve.

Dr. Susan Seethaler

DVM

Dr. Seethaler was born and raised in Arizona and graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in mechanical engineering. She received her veterinary degree from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. She has a special interest in ophthalmology and veterinary dentistry. Dr. Seethaler moved to the Spokane area with her family in 2016 to enjoy the outdoor activities it has to offer including mountain biking, camping, and snowboarding.

Dr. Heather Skinner

DVM

Dr. Heather Skinner is originally from Salt Lake City, UT. After completing her DVM at Washington State University, she and her husband decided to move to beautiful Spokane where they have loved living for 4 years. She has a special interest in behavior medicine, internal medicine, and emergency medicine. Dr. Heather loves to be outdoors and loves crafts. She has 2 dogs, a cat, a horse, 13 chickens, and 3 human children.

Dr. Kalie Murphy

DVM

Dr. Kalie Murphy grew up in western Washington and received her bachelor’s degree from Montana State University. She completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University. She enjoys being involved in the human-animal bond of veterinary medicine and has special interests in internal medicine and surgery. During her time away from the hospital she enjoys painting (an accomplished painter!), hiking and spending time with her horse, Merlin. 

Dr. Tara O’Farrell

DVM

Dr. Tara O’Farrell grew up in western Washington and completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is certified as a Cat Friendly Veterinarian and enjoys all aspects of feline medicine. She also has strong interests in nutrition and dermatology. During her time away from the hospital she enjoys spending time with her husband Nathan, her dog Hashbrown and her cat Rae. She enjoys hiking, gardening, dog training and therapy dog volunteering in the community. 

Dr. Claire Ponti

DVM

Dr. Claire Ponti grew up in central Illinois and moved to the Pacific Northwest to pursue her undergraduate degree at Washington State University. Se went on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from WSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. Ponti especially enjoys working alongside pet owners on preventative healthcare and is dedicated to providing compassionate, individualized care to every patient.  She lives in Spokane with her husband Joseph and their two Golden Retrievers, and two young cats.  Outside of the hospital, she enjoys hiking, reading and cooking.

In memory of Ryan Brown

Dr. Brown practiced in Spokane since his graduation from Colorado State University in 1999. He had a special interest and is well respected in the field of orthopedics. He routinely performed cruciate injury repairs, utilizing TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) and extra-capsular repair techniques. His arsenal of treatment options included Platelet Rich Plasma therapy and Class IV laser therapy. He was a believer in preventative medicine and understands the deep connection we have with our pets. Dr Brown and his family enjoyed the many outdoor activities that the Spokane area had to offer. Dr. Brown passed away April 9th, 2018.
